Hi,
I didn’t realise I wouldn’t be notified of reply’s to my post. Many apologies. Thanks for the helpful responses. I understand what you say about the cap being unique to the head but as I don’t have much option at the moment I guess I’d hope on VW’s tight manufacturing tolerances and give one a go. Maybe it wouldn’t fit perfectly and be a little tight or out but I’d just have to machine it a little to allow fitment. Unless it’s massively oversized I can’t see too much oil pressure loss and I maybe able to offer it up tie tie broken original to try to enable fitting. If anyone had a spare I’d like to try as my options are this, welding the old one or scrapping the vehicle.
