It ran well for about 400 miles until an oil line popped off the oil cooler I put in and I ran it dry; burned out the turbo and there's a "ticking" in the head that I can't figure out and have too many other projects to get back to it. It starts and runs but I have to rebuild the turbo. The gearing is a bit low, it runs 70mph at 3,400rpms. I will get it running again. Another thing I never totally figured out was the cooling system, I think the radiator sits about 2 inches too high and I had a problem keeping the coolant level correct. I could bleed the air out the top of the radiator and make it work but something just wasn't right.

I loved the torque of that engine, very similar to the 2.4 and nothing like the 1.6.

Darn that's a bummer to hear. Hope you do return to it and get it running again. Maybe an excuse for a turbo upgrade?

3400 at 70 is a little high but the engine probably didn't mind. Would be good to see it reach the road again, keep us posted.
