Default Rally Crossing the Volvo this weekend!

I hope to have some video of it. I entered the volvo in a local rallycross event. Short course in the dirt, probably 60 seconds to do the track or less. No jumps or anything real rough. I just thought it would be funny as hell to sell a volvo smoking up the field. I figure if anyone looses to a volvo diesel they might was well go home and burn their car! Should be a good time.

Anyone else rally crossed their car?

Jason

I've been interested in trying rally-X for awhile but never thought about entering the Volvo! What safety requirements are there for entering?

You have to wear a helmet, and the car has to have belts.

If you have a more souped up race prepaired car there are other requirements, but I'm just in the stock RWD class.

Pictures of the volvo in action! Click full size, they are pretty good quality. Too bad they didn't get any pictures of me blowing smoke, which happened quite a bit. It was the only diesel powered car there! It was also the biggest, and heaviest, but no the slowest! I didn't come close to the fastest time, but it was still cool. I didn't hit any cones and never spun out, which is more than can be said for some of the ALL WHEEL DRIVE cars that were there as well.

I'll have video soon once we get it on the computer.

That's awesome, Jason. Your car didn't look too out of place out there. Could use some mudflaps though. That 142 made me drool a bit.

Ya there were a couple older cars there: the 71 Volvo, and the black BMW was pretty sweet too... Not sure of the year though. Mud flaps and some snow tires and I would have been in! The next one is in October, and hopefully I'll have the intercooler, a slightly smaller A/R turbine housing and some more boost!

Default rally x

looks cool ,real run what ya brung fun, I love those E30 beemers too, had a lot of fun in 325 sports!(looks like an 88-90 model to me) and that 142,you can make them look so cool not seen one on the road for years though. Its a good way to check out real performance of your motor without looking over your shoulder for uniforms with radar hah. have you decided on a ultimate spec turbo yet? how many 7/940"s are going to end up with Jason spec turbo"s
