Though without any direct experience with that specific part, I can say I have used AMC camshafts and camshaft/lifter kits in other VW engine products (TDI mainly) and always had fine results. The parts seemed to be high quality and well made.

I have also installed complete brand new AMC "loaded" cylinder heads (including presumably an AMC-made camshaft) on D24T engines on two occasions, one in a Volvo and the other in a Pinzgauer. I cannot say how those engines may be faring these years later, but at least initially everything appeared to be good stuff.

I also have installed complete AMC heads on TDI cars, and my current 2004 Passat TDI commuter car has an AMC head. That head was installed at 200k miles by someone else after a cambelt failure at that time. The car is now over 300k miles and running great with no top end issues.

Short version, if you needed a cam, I wouldn't have any concerns using one from AMC. Don't know if there are any others out there. Kolbenschmitt and Estas are the well known manufacturers of cams for more recent VW diesel engines and they might well make a D24 cam.

I don't know if the cam above is made for D24 or D24T spec specifically, but oftentimes aftermarket manufacturers will "consolidate" an application if they can make one part that is reasonably usable in the place of multiple highly similar OEM part numbers. So it would not surprise me if AMC were to market this for both D24 and D24T applications, knowing as we do that they are physically interchangeable with little or no meaningful performance effect.

That said, the part number referenced in your link that starts with an "075" mildly suggests that this is being marketed for a D24T, where all D24T-specific engine parts have the 075 prefix. The D24 NA prefix, if I am not mistaken, is 072.
