All I did was take out the electric fan I fitted and went back to the belt driven...

Overheating
Hi all,
Headed up into the mountains this weekend my D24T over heated. I was blowing about 19 psi and WOT in top gear. My EGT was around 1100.
I don't have my liquid/air intercooler hooked up...

Now we have the engine timed as well as the injection pump. It is set to .96 mm since I am in Denver. We also added a 24v solenoid to the VE IP to advance timing by 1 deg with the flip of a switch,...

Update
Progress....
Also, the larger D24 manifold will fit!
This saves me blocking the turbo input, while I still toss the blow off valve.
We hope to complete the timing and the front of the engine...

v8volvo has been helping me with my rebuild, since we are both in Denver.
First there is a photo of one of the pistons that whacked the valves.

From the indentations in the crank and cog, it looks like there was a smaller key in there. Maybe i should cut and fit a bigger key, or...

It was very tight. I could spin the timing cog before i loosened it with a 1/2" impact wrench.
BTW, i did not find any metal bits in the belt cover, so i have no idea if there was a key in there or...
