245 USA 84' Turbo is coming
My Volvo 245 USA 1984r. M46 D24 --> D24T project
Original D24 had low compression 17-24 bar so I bought 940 D24T with broken head on 5 cylinder, but good crank and used head, but in good condition. Now I'm assembling all together :) http://imageshack.us/a/img23/1024/v0by.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img10/8621/6tah.jpg M46 after painting http://imageshack.us/a/img11/9263/1i44.jpg Minty Fresh :D http://imageshack.us/a/img35/3861/f8tc.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img17/1445/z3pu.jpg Oil pan from D24, with turbo oil flow http://imageshack.us/a/img7/9781/m9q1.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img10/6086/n9ir.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img209/3128/0z8l.jpg Head after total recondition, all new: seals, valves etc. http://imageshack.us/a/img837/4561/3yre.jpg All need parts, clutch disc, MLS head gasket http://imageshack.us/a/img841/2472/4k06.jpg Assembling http://imageshack.us/a/img89/6697/0exf.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img19/4843/zrip.jpg |
Nice (re)build. Must be an Awesome thing to go through one.
ps. I knew something is funny but it took some time to figure out, it`s the asymmetry of the front signals. The first car I`ve seen with eu-usa combined. Cool ps.#2. Dont tell me those are two Polski Fiats behind the coloumn! Cool#2 |
I bought car with that two different front signals, but already I have second USA indicator, waiting for installation.
That photo with two Fiat 126p is from Youngtimer meeting in Warsaw, but i have one fiat 126p too, but not good condition, it's stand outside of 7 years. |

Probably answered before, but what would one need in order to swap a D24T into a 240?
Providing I have a 240 diesel shell, D24 that oncet used to power that car and a D24T from a 700. Are engine mounts the same? Turbo fender/chassis clearance? Oil pan (something comes into my mind about 200 and 700/900 pans being different)? Something else? |
