Tdic with NA pump

Hey i have a problem with my 945 tdic.
The problem is that the engine "hooks" on my rpm. So when i go over 2000rpm my engine slooooowly revs down. Right when it goes under 2000 i falls down to idle just like i should. Any ideas? And why im making this post is cause i wonder if it would work with a NA pump istead of turbo. Any ideas?

Posted from iphone so sorry for misspells

Will it run, yes. Run to full potential? no.
Is your throttle arm on the correct spline?

here is some videos on the issue. both in engine bay and in the driver seat.

EGR acting up ?
Sticky egr valve maybe.
Try the same with the egr valve disconnected.

oh ur a member here, big fan of your d24 videos on YT. anyway ya i have thought about block of the egr, but what should be the easiest way to check it without having to remove the pipe from the exhaust and so on. i saw that theres a yellow "tube" from the egr at the air intake manifold, is that the one?

I didn't read your complain well enough.
My bad.
No egr related.
Otherwise you would have problems when rpm rise, not the opposite.

It must be in the pump.
Somebody maybe added some fuel, the idle is screwed a bit because of that.

The idle rpm is regulated by a centrifugal regulator, with few little levers inside the pump, and a spring countering the centrifugal force.

yep added fuel. but not much at all, my friend is driving with ALOT more fuel added without the rpm issue so im really scratching my head on this one.

either the pump or my engine have really bad compression...(?).

What is your mileage ?
bad compression would cause bad starts, smoke, low power.
You have a fuel delivery related problem that's sure.
i suggest you to go back to stock fuel quantity and stock injection timing.
You could see if it's working as it should first, then mod it the proper way.

well, its around 0.6-0.7 10 kilometers i guess.

well i have wondering if my pumpaxle seal could be the badguy causing all this...

ngoma 02-16-2015 01:13 PM

That seal can cause the following problems:
1. Hard starting after sitting (allows fuel to drain back to tank and IP to fill with air)
2. Fuel leaking from IP driveshaft when running.
3. Sometimes causes engine to die at idle, difficulty getting it to rev.

Those are not your symptoms, are they?

michaelovitch explanation is more probable, that the max fuel screw has been screwed in. Sometimes this requires backing off the throttle lever one spline in compensation. It is a balancing act.
