Thanks guys. Yes, some of the pistons have been whacked pretty good sometime back in the days. It also came as a surprise to me. I bought the engine a while ago, when the old engine gave up. It is a D24 with 400.000kms on it. The rods seem to be okay.
Tonight I got the engine and the engine hoist (?) loaded on the trailer, and tomorrow I will take a drive to my friends house where the 740 is. And then we will drop it in, and see if it starts. I will be doing a start-up video also :) http://i1295.photobucket.com/albums/...psjbxvfrbm.jpg http://i1295.photobucket.com/albums/...pssckrmpo1.jpg ...To be continued :D |
Finally! The engine is ready to be put in the bay.

Interesting load equalizer on the engine hoist. Never thought of that. Does using the web sling like that allow you to tilt the engine by sliding the belt along the hook? Does it stay where you want it?

The engine stays where I want, and the hoist works great :)

I'm happy my engine is still fine, my old engine is terrible.. maybe rebuild it in the future and fit ARP studs and a steel gasket *dreams* |
