fuel hard lines

hi can any one tell me is it practical possible to remove all 6 fuel hardline in one go once the vacuum pump is removed i am going to attempt to change the injectors on my D24 they have done close on 150000 miles now i have 6 refurbished injectors ready to go in ,

Yes that is much easier done with the special wrench. I have done it with a common combination wrench but don't recommend that. Make sure to keep any foreign matter from getting in.

What is the problem with your current injectors?

thanks for the prompt reply Ngoma, yes i have purchased the special cranked wrench , the car still runs good i think i haven't driven another D24, but read after that amount of miles it shoud be done although fuel consumption is still ok
and starts 1st turn of the key every time but puffs and pants for a short minute but at 27 years old there will be noticeable noise and smoke in cold weather, thats why i woud like to put fresh injectors in ,
what is your opinion on this woud appreciate your comments ?

My opinion?

Don't fix it if it ain't broke! :)

Unless you're experiencing symptoms of injector problems why go thru the hassle of replacing them?

Hard start/no start
Rough running/misfire
Smell of diesel fuel
Excessive smoke, black or white
Poor performance, excessive fuel consumption

These days, with corporate cost-cutting, consolidation, supply chain issues, the new injectors may be inferior to what you have.

Where did you hear that injectors must be replaced at 150,000 miles?

hello the injectors i have are the original one from the car i have had them refurbished by a recommend diesel engineeres so they look clean and tidy now .,the ones on the car now were from volvo so they were good too , i see what you mean the car starts 1st time every time and you woud leave alone , the diesel fuels today are a little different , from years ago , with them been changed already i was told they shoud come out ok and if i follow the correct procedure
i shoud be ok ,
what do you think go for it ,?

What do I think, again?

If the injectors are not problematical, leave them be.

Keep your spares for when you need them.

ok Ngoma
i will hold back changing the injectors ,theres a chap you may have seen online over in USA he's a mercedes specialist ,goes under the name of MERCEDESSOURCE , he very informative but he does recommend getting injectors ,changed/refurbished, at high milage he works on older generation cars like ours ,only another thought ,regards jim
