Fuel Filter Inner o ring???
Anyone know if I need to use the little inner O ring when replacing the fuel filter?
Volvo cant seem to tell me... |
If it wasn't leaking, I would reinstall it the same as the one that came off.

well I have had it both ways:D
didnt notice a diff but there has to be one right??? It is an 86 740 TD wagon if that helps |
I just looked in my green book, and there is no picture of the filter. It just says to lube the filter seal. They may not have been that way originally. I would be willing to be the inner o-ring was added later to help keep the clean fuel from mixing with unfiltered. I'm sure it can't hurt.

well there are 2 filter seals the outer and inner...
I guess ill try it! |
Yes use the oring it comes with a new filter. I dont see a listing for it seprate in VIDA. It keeps the unfiltered fuel from going into pump.

well, done.
the new inner o ring didnt fit tight to the stud so I had to position it carfefully on the filter and raise it up and thread. took a few tries but I got it. Doesnt seem to be leaking any. THere is leaking fuel but I think that is comming from my pump above. Seal or maybe just where one of the injector lines comes to the pump. Any one know what size that injector line nut is? I am going to loosen and tighten the ones that look wet. |
They are 17mm
