Clutch fork return spring location? (245 M46)
The previous owner did not have a fork return spring at all, he just had the clutch adjusted almost all the way with no play. I ordered a spring from NAPA for $3 and now I cant figure out the location to install it on the car. Am I missing a bracket. I have included a link to a picture to help diagnose. Thanks.

You are missing a bracket and a rubber washer/bumper. The bracket is a heavy cast iron weight that the end of the cable slips into. The rubber piece goes between the arm and the cast iron piece. I will take a picture this weekend.
There is no spring used on the original set-up.

Chad your car probably should have had a spring originally, anywhere you can find to hook it onto should be fine as long as it allows you to achieve some tangible free play at the clutch pedal so that you know you're getting full engagement. If it was adjusted with no free pedal before, did you check the condition of the release bearing?
