D24 Teardown
Hey, so the D24 in my blue 244 is dead 3 cylinders have bad compression but I had a parts car with a running D24. I figured I would just swap it in and be done with it. One thing led to another and I convinced myself to take the whole thing apart and rebuild it. Anyways, I was wondering where do you purchase all the gaskets, bearings, seals, etc. needed for the D24? I can't seem to find any sites selling them. I also noticed some streaks in some of the cylinders so I might have to take it to a machine shop. It was running fine before pulling it apart.

I checked brickwerks.co.uk someone recommended in this forum and it seems like it has most of the parts I will need. As for why I took it apart, I don't really know. I guess I figured I'm swapping the engines anyways might as well reseal it and replace the bearings.

Not many have ever reported actual problems with bearings, unless maybe after catastrophic failure like pistons into valves.

I figured if they're inexpensive enough it would be a good idea to just replace them? Two of the crankshaft ones seems pretty worn.
